angels of destruction

mark, peter and peter, tearing it down!

the construction team showed up at our house last weekend -  mark, peter d and my dad – and they tore out, literally, the whole top half of our house!  and they rebuilt some broken parts, identified some rotten parts, and some just plain weird parts.  like, “hey, what’s this big hunk of stone doing in the floor??…uhhh..maybe holding up the fan on the ceiling below??”  or like, “hey, what’s this big post holding up….oh..nothing at all…”  and although me – maire – is posting this blog thing, when i say “we” here, i don’t mean “me”!  the guys did it all – face masks, late nights, grimy everything, insulation rashes, and even the clean up!  THANKYOU!!

pretty normal stairs going up.

water damage on the ceiling...not that that's the first ceiling we pulled down from up there...

the men decided to open up a window and throw stuff out to slide down the roof and into the front yard.

raelen is watching the stuff rain down, and dad is packing into our "bagsters".

finding the brick behind the walls...and we're about to find a lot more of it!

and the walls came tumbling down...

some of the slabs of tree we found inside the walls still had the bark on them...

our junk pile is almost as tall as our house!
